We are back

An artistic presentation of a case at the Supreme Court of Norway that never took place following the raising of the Swastika at Arkivet on the 9th of April 2018

Neo Nazis raised the flag of Nazi Germany, the Swastika, outside Arkivet along with a banner that read ‘We are back’.
They were charged according to Section 185 of the Penal Code under hate speech, they were issued fines in the District Court and later acquitted in the Court of Appeal.
The case never appeared before the Supreme Court of Norway. The performance does not want to cast judgement but is looking for a deeper understanding. The question ‘why’ will be subjected to many attempted answers. People who supported the raising of the flag will be invited to share their perspectives, in hope that these views will meet corrective opposition.  Because, as the project hopes: ‘When the stronghold of torture like Arkivet can become a centre for peace, people en route into extreme ideologies can also find their way back to a democratic community’.
