Approximately 40% of LGBTQ+ people in Southern Norway would like there to be more openness about their own orientation, and an internalised ‘gay shame’ could be the reason why. By broadcasting music and lyrics that deal with LGBTQ+ people to a large audience, Out of the shell wants to contribute to disarm the differences and making it easier to be open. The idea of making new songs based on the LGBTQ+ family has grown for Tom Hugo over time. Most stories in lyrics have cis man + cis woman as the main characters. The songs will be catchy enough to reach a large audience and the soundscape open enough for the lyrics to stand out.
