KAY portraits

Three tableaux with marionettes at Rådhuskvartalet, and a video with portraits of KAY to be distributed digitally.

KAY portraits represent people we usually call queer. Zychowicz, the artist, explains:
- We cannot choose where we are born, we cannot choose who we were born as. We can only choose who we become and how we are going to live. That is our right, responsibility, and privilege.
KAY portraits highlight respect, diversity, and rights. The inspiration are three people with the initials K, A and Y. They are two Polish women who live their everyday life in Kristiansand and would have difficulties moving back to Poland and living an openly queer life. Then there is a Norwegian man, who lives alone with his two children.

Who: Anna Zychowicz Esavana

When: 3. May until 31. August 2021
