HORDE Kristiansand

Dance auditions in the urban spaces around Kristiansand.

HORDE questions who performs and who experiences professional art, and actively seeks communities that normally do not attend Kilden. By being visible in the town’s urban spaces Kilden wants to recruit, through auditions and performances in public spaces in Kristiansand. HORDE is aimed specifically at young girls with a minority background. During short workshops for young adults in the urban spaces, at the basketball court, skateparks or outside the youth centres, we explore movement with music

Kilden is looking for girls aged between 16 and 18 for work from the 17th-19th of September, the 4th –10th of October (half term) and the 4th – 8th of December. Working hours will be outside school hours.
In this role the students will be taking part in the performance HORDE alongside the five professional artists Ingri Fiksdal (choreography), Elnaz and Mahtab Gargari (costume), Solveig Styve Holte (choreography), Amie Mbye (dance), and Rohey Talaah (music). The performance will be staged at Kilden Performing Arts Centre and in various public spaces in Kristiansand from the 9th – 11th of December.

The performance will be developed together with the students and will question representation of gender and cultural background, who gets to participate in artistic processes and who has access to art.
The relevant candidates will be invited to an audition workshop the 28th-29th of August.
Girls with multicultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
